New Media Station Documentation - Importing from DVD

While it is technically possible to capture video from a DVD and import it into iMovie using the CD-RW/DVD-R Superdrive in the computer, we are not supporting this technology at this time.

If you need to import video from a DVD, our current solution is to contact Audiovisual Services to borrow a DVD player and connect it to the VCR on our New Media workstations using the procedures described in the Importing from Analog Cameras and Other Video Sources document.

This page will be updated once we have been able to test some computer-based DVD capture solutions and have a supported utility available.
