Client Setup Instructions for Odyssey

A network license of Odyssey has been purchased for the entire campus. This license allows for 400 users to simultaneously access the Odyssey software. Odyssey Logo

Your computer meet the following requirements to use the networked version of Odyssey:

Installation Instructions

The following instructions will install the required files on your computer for using the networked version of Odyssey. This procedure only needs to be performed once, but it must be done on every individual computer on which you wish to use Odyssey.

  1. Connect to the repository for the installation files from Box at https://unh.box.com/v/unh-academic-apps. This folder is accessible to all UNH account holders, but you may have to login with your UNH username and password to gain access.
  2. Open the folder for the Odyssey software.
  3. Open the folder for the version and operating system you would like to install.
  4. You will see an archive for the software. In this case, it will be a .zip archive file. Download this by clicking on the item and then clicking on the black Download button that appears in the middle of the browser window. Be sure to Download the .zip archive to your computer. Do not Open it from the location.
  5. Once the download has finished, locate the .zip archive. Typically it is in the Downloads folder in your user folder on the computer. Right-click on the .zip archive and select Extract All. Once extracted, you should see the installation files to continue the process.
  6. Run the setup program named Odyssey 5 Student Installer by double-clicking it.
  7. Proceed through the setup program accepting the license agreement and then the default options.
  8. When the licensing options screen appears, select Network and click Next.
  9. A separate installer will launch for the Sentinal Runtime license metering software. Proceed through this installer, accepting the license agreement and the default options.
  10. Click Finish when the Sentinal Runtime installer finishes.
  11. You will be prompted to enter network license server to connect to. Enter academic.unh.edu.
  12. Complete the process of finishing all running installers.
  13. Once the installation is complete, you may discard the installation archive you downloaded in the initial steps.

Using Odyssey

Because Odyssey must check out a license from the UNH license server each time it runs, you must be either on the UNH campus on a wired Ethernet connection or using the UNH-Secure wireless network, or you must be connected to the UNH VPN service if using the software from off campus.

Once you have completed the installation, you can run Odyssey by using the shortcuts in the Odyssey Software folder of the Start Menu.

Uninstalling Odyssey

If you wish to remove Odyssey from your computer, you may do so via the Windows Add/Remove Programs Control Panel. Open this Control Panel, select the Odyssey item, and click the Remove button.
